해당 lesson에서 1개씩 Comprehension skill을 학습하도록 교재가 구성되어 있다. 교재에 설명되어 있는 각 comprehension skill을 읽으면서 설명한다.

VOCABULARY

상단의 박스에 있는 Vocabulary와 definition을 읽는다.
하단의 passage을 읽으면서 학습한 단어를 문맥에 맞게 삽입하도록 한 후 답을 맞추어 본다.

TIME TO READ

Reading: 학생들에게 Time limit을 주고 조용히 읽고 중요한 부분, 모르는 단어나 문장은 marking하게 한다.
전체 passage의 문맥을 파악하고 있는지 점검한다.

STRATEGY

학습해야 할 Comprehension skill로 ‘Time to Read’의 Passage를 분석해본다.

COMPREHENSION

질문을 하면서 학생들이 의미파악이 되었는지 확인한다.
Writing a response : ‘Time to Read’의 내용을 읽고 학생들이 자신의 의견을 writing하도록 한다. (마지막 문항) Writing 학습을 지도하기 위해 교사와 함께 서론, 본론, 결론의 diagram을 그려볼 수 있다.
